ConAgra Recalls Peter Pan Peanut Butter

(WSBT) ConAgra foods is voluntarily recalling two brands of peanut butter because of a possible link to salmonella.

The recalled products are Peter Pan and Great Value Peanut Butter. The product code begins with 2111.

People in several states have gotten sick from Salmonella, but no one has died. The states covered in the recall are: Alaska ,Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Washington Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

If consumers have this product, they should discard it, but save the product lid.

For a full refund, consumers must return the Peter Pan Peanut Butter or Great Value Peanut Butter product lid along with their name and mailing address to ConAgra Foods, P.O. Box 57078, Irvine, CA 92619-7078.

Consumers with questions or concerns about the recall can call the 24-hour toll-free hotline at 866-344-6970.

i was one of the lcuky ones who happen to buy a jar of great value PB a few weeks ago...alas it hadnt been opend yet...must have been a sign from god because i eat PB almost everyday and for some reason havent felt like eating it lately. and yes when i checked the product code it was one of jars being recalled...thank god i never opened it and ate it cuz i would be the lucky one that would get sick lol

:D Thanks, Betty, for the peanut butter heads up.  Fortunately, my wife

and I don't buy the pre-packaged peanut butter.  I, too, eat it every day,

however, we buy the fresh, natural kind at a bulk store.  It is a much

different tasting peanut butter.  Takes a bit of getting used to, but after

a while, you find that it actually tastes better than the jarred type and

it has no artificial junk in it.  Thanks again, Betty.   :D

I never tried any other type than at the regular grocery store.
