Internet Texas Hold'em: Winning Strategies from an Internet Pro by Matthew Hilger is the one I would reccomend. You can find it and many others in the Downloads/Poker Reading Section of this site.

I am reading Slanksy on Poker.  What he calls the Fundmental Therom of Poker, Which is if you would have played differently had you know what your opponet had you lose etc.  I put that book as really what it says so it would be a main element.

Hey im looking to get a poker book but which one would you guys reccommend??

Depends on what level of play you are at? Beginner? Intermediate? Garage game player or casino? Stricktly online? So many different players and WAY TO MANY books. Overall book would have to be Super System, by the God Father of Poker (so I hear anyway)  8)

How is the Phil Hellmuth book anyone read it any reviews on it?

I didn't finish reading it because I had to return it to the library but I thought the book was really good for beginners.  If you read the reviews, people don't really like his book that much because they expect to read about amazing plays and such.  The book does't contain anything fancy like that, but for a beginner I think the book is great.

I'm also reading this book by LOU KRIEGER, you can read his articles over at cardplayer.com.  The book is called The Poker Play's Bible and it's an also great read for beginners.  It goes through alot of the basics of a few different games.

I have not read Slansky yet, but I understand it is the definitive book, but a bit dry. I read the Harrington books and they are fine, but as Don will tell you, that type of info only goes so far. Chekc out some of his threads for adds and hand structure.

All are great, anything that you can read to give you different vision will only help in the long run.  I love to read winners of todays games articles or books.  The game is changing & if you care to win you will as well.
Careful what you wish for.....you just may get it!

I read most of Hellmuth's book and it is good for developing your style of play and what kind of player you'd like to be.  But if you've already developed that then it's only good for strategizing against other player's styles of play.  At least he didn't go into his psyche or "Poker Etiquette by Phil"

For the newer  players i would reccomend Doyle Brunsons Super System.  super system 2 is verry good too.   Doyle brunson and Mike Caro do have a poker school site, with alot of great reading on it.

I have now read Sklansky and it is a good one (it is a little dry, but not as bad as I had heard). I am looking forward to his advanced tournanment book and maybe DoylesRoom Super System. I have also read both Harringont on Hold 'em books and they are very good books but mainly for tourney play.

I loved Harrington on Hold'em Vol 1.

I did not get around to Vol 2 but I can definately say that Vol 1 made me a better player.

I'd also recommend anything that Sklansky has written if you understand math. If you dont understand math then dont even bother because you'll never grasp enough of the book to get anything out of it.

If you're fairly new to poker and are going to play Limit then I would first read Winning Low Limit Holdem by Lee Jones,  it's a pretty quick read, and then read Small Stakes Holdem by Sklansky, you'll need to read this one a couple of times to absorb all the info.  If you're playing mainly tournaments then Harrington's Vol 1 and 2 are your best bet.  I have the new Sklansky book on NL but haven't read it yet so I can't comment on that one.  Hope this helps.

Think "Ace on the River" is a good one for advanced.

I like The Theory of Poker (David Sklansky). I think it's a book that every poker player should read. :D
