Cheating Online - Read It
« on: July 01, 2009, 07:01:53 AM »
In another forum I found this... I think we all must be aware of this.

Cheating at Online Poker: Recently there was a program aired on the US television program "60 Minutes" that described the online cheating scandals at UltimateBet and Absolute Poker. For those of you who missed it, here is a link to the broadcast, http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=5119802n&tag=contentMain;cbsCarousel

Just because some players were caught cheating online does not mean that it still does not happen. This one player, potripper, was incredibly dumb to play it the way he did, by winning so much it became too obvious that there was some sort of cheating going on. Had he not been so greedy and just played slightly above the average, he would most likely still be at it.

And there may be others who can do the same thing, but are smart enough to cover their tracks by smarter play, losing a few now and then, and keeping a low profile. We see examples everyday of websites being hacked, information being stolen, sites raided and other types of Internet crime. Who is to say that this is not being done now as I write this?

However, I think the most common form of cheating online is collusion. There are a few sites where I simply just do not play anymore at the 10 seat SNG tables or ring games because the collusion is so obvious.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I would love to try a poll, but I have no idea how to do it, typing is enough of a challenge for me, lol.

No matter what is out there, there will to a person who will try to get it by breaking rules laws etc.  May be from a store bank or an other person.

But as for the program they have to cater the program to as cash back for them as posible so they make it easy to cheat than it is!

I thought it was longer than that and that person later admitted to a few other fraud schemes and it not aloud to have internet access!  Still can use a computer to edit documents etc. but not aloud internet.  Do not ask me how they are going to monitor that to me.

Do not worry about Blacksun comes down hard on some one here and there, and has done it to me!  But the news is old.

;D ;D I am here to DEFINITELY CONFIRM this IS old news.  I have now seen the TV broadcast twice.  ;D  For your info UltimateBet and AP, pretty well same site, just one more way to make extra dough.  No, 'apwrestlin', it's ok to play at the sites.  ;)

I doubt anyone would go to all that trouble to cheat at the levels I play in.

i have heard recent complaints of a few people telling me of their recent experience at ap/UltimateBet  where their chips just start disappearing a few at a time when no betting has been done..  i believe this is an example of chip shaving.  anyone else had a problem like this?
