Hi all,
I have already posted a thread on odds of making drawing premium hands.
As a rule of thumb whene looking at the odds you should turn this into people betting ino the pot.
For example if you have suited cards of say 8/J you have about 8 to 1 chance of hitting an flush draw. Around a ten person table that should, by theory, make you the only person to hit it and can bet accordingly. You must be aware, though, that this is theory and in most cases people will bet out with suited cards.
There is also a 3 to 1 chance of hitting either the J or 8 to pair on the flop meaning that if there is four people in the pot you should be a favourite with the flopped pair.
All this is theoretical and if someone is betting like they have a monster hand...... study the flop very carefully.
Hope this helps and if there are mistakes in this theory, please post a reply and politely put me right!
Take care all,
Dom
