A tourney I played in
« on: September 26, 2005, 09:32:57 PM »
I played in a tourney yesterday, with a lot of sitouts.  What really bothered me ( I am pretty easy going most of the time) was the player next to me would be playing against a sitout and check all the way through. The sitout won most of the time.  We all make mistakes and sometimes not realize that the person is sitting out, this moron did it 4 times though.  Yes I was telling him to bet, still don't think he understood though.

I have seen that also, even when you let them know it does no good, alot of stuborn players out there    What makes it real sad is when they feed those players that sit-out... then take you OUT before the sit-outs

If you think to check to a sitter is stupid... please dont tell anything about me!!

The other day I was the only one in the table, all of them sitting out. I was acting as fast as possible.

I was getting so used to just bet and take the blinds that, I still dont know why, started going allin. Allin until....  8O

:?  someone did show up and called me....

Guess what happened  :?:

Well that blows.. It is also why I just hit the "raise" button and do the minimum raise untill someone shows up, I learned that lesson just like you did, the hard way  :(

I think all site should remove sitouts. It is very unfair to the players that show up.

More and more are removing them from "freerolls", but you can not remove them from buy-in games... I checked on that one myself, they "paid to sit there and if they dont play the hands thats their right".

sitouts should be limited

I can see both sides to the argument.  I hate it when people sitout for extended periods of time.  However, it is handy to be able to sitout if you need to go to the toilet or make a coffee late at night etc.  Also, let's face it they are sitting out for long they are not biulding their stack and the blinds are eating away at their stack more and more the longer they sit out.  Anyway, I reckon some kind of limit on how long you can sit out would be good.

PS can you sit out in bricks and mortar tourneys?
