Thinkers=Bluffers???
« on: December 24, 2008, 10:56:16 AM »
Situation:

Early in tourney- lets say second blind elevation.

No reads on other players yet- all have been playing solid poker

I have AKs and raise 3x from button, SB calls, BB calls

Flop comes:

Kc4d3d

SB checks, BB checks, I bet 3/4 pot
SB folds, BB calls quickly

Turn:

Td- essentially a blank

SB checks, I bet pot
SB thinks and thinks and thinks and thinks then goes all in

What do you think?
1- Bluff- he has nothing and is hoping to get you out of the hand
2- monster- flopped a set or two pair and doesn't want you to draw out on him
3- Bathroom- had to go take a wiz and just made it back in time then decided to go all in with a Ten
4- Other option

This happened to me a couple of nights ago and I ended up calling his all in.

Results to come after I get your feedback (sorry for the tease but I don't want to ruin the feedback by providing you with what actually happened:wacko:)

Thanks.

Just my guess, but I would have been thinking more of a flush draw on the flop and hitting it on the turn, or perhaps he was representing the flush.

an Absolute shot in the dark would be Kd Jd which gave him the flush draw, backdoor str8 draw and top pair on the flop, but then again what do i know about poker lol

In a Buy-in Tourney
I think option 4 Other.
I say a made FLush orI would put him on a Set of 3s 4s or even kings posssibly making the set with the turn card.

The all in bet over the 1/2 pot call and pot size raise  indicates a Monster hand.
If you have no read of the player and its early I give most the benifit of the doubt.
This is also a hard hand to predict not knowing what kinda tourney Buy-in entry numbers, Re-buys  or blind Structure it is hard to say.

Freeroll I would say he was bluffing as the Kamakazi is the style in freerolls.  :?:

I think a majority of the time the are but sometimes I think some people I just multitabling and just could get there fast or also trying to figure home much they can get out of you and other people in the pot.

He might have an Ad10x so he has hit the pair on the turn and a flush draw.

It would help to know what kind of game it was.. if it was a freeroll or a buy-in
