7 common mistakes for online players

Very good thoughts. But I don't believe in all of them. Know thats my opion. Been playing poker for the last 40 plus years and playing on line over 2 years. Usually play 3 -4 games at once and sometimes I depend on luck but most of the times I can figure out what is going on by keeping notes of the other playes. That I found is the best way to play on line. When playing live you can read the tells, on line they have tells also but they are diverant. For instance, the way your betting can tell me a lot about your hand, the other night playing NL, pocket Q,10os called the flop 6,3,9 player bet 2x pot,I  called, flop A, player beat 1x pot,"Question: Why did he lower his bet?" To trap me, afraid of the A, etc. I called, the turn A. player bet 1x pot, I called. Player mucked his hand. His tell was reducing his bet when the A flopped. He should have increase his bet, thus telling me that he hit A. There are many more tells that I have found about players on line and thats why I love the game. Trying to figure out what are they up to. So to repeat myself play the game but keep notes.

Rgchan, Fubar I agree - if I am playing 3 or more tourneys my delay is open the result of moving around overlapping screens.

I always leave my chat on - I like talkers - it is free information; I lalso like players who tell me I have made a bonehead play - if they are correct, it helps me;  if they did not understand the play, it helps me - either way I learn a bit about how they think and play.  So keep those comments coming.

Hi,

Just read in this section on the drinking area of poker. I have allready posted my views on that in another section.

However, i do like to chat while playing poker as you are talking to all sorts of different people from different cultures to the one you are living in.

There are some idiots out there and most sites enable you to block chat from certain people.

On the whole though most of the people are quite fun to talk to and I'm more than happy to make new aquaintences.

Look forward to talking to you all!

Dom

I love to have my chat up but it does lead to enemies and  i suppose they learn a little more of how you play.

If you can put a guy on tilt, that primes them for a trap.  But if they target you, it may backfire.  About showing cards, to show a major bluff sets up for pot to come later on, when you draw your monster.  Play that hand the same as the bluff and watch the calls come in.
