I was really going to quit posting bad beats; but this one really ticked me off.

I was playing in the Cake million dollar series final yesterday.. $100K prize pool with $75K for 1st.

Early game, level 2-3, I get A?D in BB.. Several limpers, so I get to see the flop.. with flops 2D and no As.  One bets half pot, about 120$. One other caller and myself.  Now the pot odds are good and I still only have about $150M into almost a $425 pot.  Turn is a D and I hit the nut flush.  One checks, the other bets pot and I reraise.  Third player folds.  At this point, I would assume it was obvious, I hit the flush.  The guy had already doubled up and could have folded and still have chippies.  He pushes allin and of course I call.  I do have the best hand possible at the time.

He turns over pp88s for trips, no pairs on board, so no hidden surprises.  Thr river pairs the board for his boat. 8O

ok...here is one for ya...Playing Landshark $1 buyin added...ahead in chip count...was bb...flopped two pair...made bet to see if other player would fold...but instead they go all in with an A rag sooted...spades :? ...only one spade on board...and guess what...runner runner for a back door flush 8O ...I was so disgusted with that play I said screw it...i'm done with these donk moves and left with chip lead mind you...and then blinded out to where the donk ended up in the money ahead of me...only inside info could have made a play like that...unbelievable...friken unbelievable...As it comes down to it, I thought we are trying to play poker...not play like a donk with hopes of hitting a lottery...I am still disgusted...

I think you gotta play to win the best you can do is put the money in holding the best hand post-flop and sweat the last two cards.
I also believe you gotta play to win big, I am not defending the stupidity of a lot of lotto players or Luckers,Donks,FIsh, Ect.
My advice is You gotta open it up when you are playing to win it seems to give you a lot of good things.
I myself played a big tourney kinda tight and got beat out of a $2700
or more prize swing winning a $60 consolation for second place
In the big 420 tourney for a crusie to the carrabean Once @ Reefer.poker
I learned you gotta play to win cuz a couple of hands I had a K-J suited and A-J os that woulda railed the guy who eventually won and gave me a 6 to one chip advantage as opposed to me protecting a two to 1 chip lead.
I played a little tight to protect my position and it cost me bigtime.
The Payoff swing from winning a $1700 cruise and $1000 spending cash is a lot greater than a $60 satellite don't ya think?
Some times playing conserative will cost you the whole kit & cabootal.
Anyhow Play agressive even when you are ahead you gotta get all the chips to actually feel satisfied with devoting so much to any 1 event.
