Would that also apply to K-Q or A-Q off suit? I'm just not quite sure what to do. If I raise half the pot people get scared away and fold and so much for winning a large pot? Thanks

Getting maximum value is an art unto itself.. and something you will learn thru trial and error. Every table is different and you have to pay attention to your opponents. Finessing someone into betting when you have the nuts... priceless

yeah, I usually watch what the other player at the table are doing, and then do the opposite. If they are really tight players then I start playing more loose.
