Ever feel like crying?
« on: October 22, 2005, 08:03:57 AM »
Guys my heart was broken last night. Played in our $100 buy in tourny and although I was struggling early I finally found my niche and developed a healthy stack. The prize pool was a minimum $5000, probably closer to $8k. I could taste the final table, But with huge blinds I needed one more play to ease me there. With a bunch of limp ins and me playing tight poker all night I had the respect of everyone when I pushed at the button. I had AQ of hearts.. Not a killer hand but I needed this steal and if I did get called I would be happy with a gamble. Because people know my style the table folded fast except the big blind. It was alot for him to call me but he had me covered.. If he lost I would be in amazing shape from this pot.

He thought, and thought almost folded.. then called with A5 off.

When I flipped he was drawing to 3 fives.. 3 bloody outs..

Who calls a huge all in with a weak hand like that.. I was going to double up.. Ya you know what happened.

Bad call.. "Well thats poker" Said someone when he hit a five on the turn I felt like punching him, flipping the table over then kicking the caller for making a bad play. Insted I shook everyones hand, wished them all luck, smiled and left knowing that if you want to play this game.. things like that happen.

What really killed me is he had a pink shirt on..

The nerve of some poker players!!

What a terrible beat though Dmode.. I feel for ya bad.

The other night I was in a tourney with Ad,Qs and the BB... button raises, I figure he is trying to buy and of course I call, flop came Kd,Jd,8s, he bet and I called, (I have the st8 draw now)... turn came Qd, I portray the flush (royal draw, mid pair, and still a str8 draw) with a big bet,he hesitates and calls, river comes 6d !! I hit the A high flush... I bet the minimum... he hesitates and calls again... we flip cards... he shows JJ..

I felt bad.. he hit a set on the flop and I just hung out and sucked out on him....

lol now thats funny!

But the Bad Beat was bad, I feel bad for you.

I have learned that AQ...
is usually vs Ace Number so He might have called thinking only small cards were coming.

I think any player would call with an Ace if they Out-Chiped you and it meant moving up a spot.

Sad, But TRUE!

MUCH BETTER SKILL AND LUCK NEXT TIME!

That is why I like playing poker with you, you are always a gentleman!
And with that play, I would have held the guy down so you could kick him a few times.
