two hands in a row
« on: February 20, 2006, 07:29:31 AM »
I have an average chip stack, 2nd highest on the table, coming off the first break.

Folded to me on the button. I have 77. I limp, for 2 reasons, I didn't need a huge confrontation at this point with the blinds being so low still, and if I hit my hand I might be able to break one of the 2 blind players. Small blind completes and bb checks. Flop comes 7 9 2 rainbow. I'm like JACKPOT!!!
Small blind leads out with about a 3/4 pot sized bet, bb folds I smooth call. Turn is a Ace. I'm now talking to my monitor. Please don't think I have an Ace I say a few times. He bets it again. I smooth call again. Ace on the river.
Board of 792AA. I have a boat. He bets out about half his stack but it was like 1/4 of the pot. I reraise him all in for his last 600 or so. He calls. He turns over A9 for the boat for Aces full and I show 7's full.
Very next hand....
I'm now down to like 2K. I get 1010. 2x's raise in front of me. I call.
Flop comes 1094 two suited. Original raiser over bets the pot and I push all in. He calls. He turns over AK with no backdoor flush possibilities.
So Im golden right?? Turn is a Q, River is the Jack. He has a straight to my Set and I'm out of the tournament.
Don't ya love poker sometimes!!!!
