Crack means to beat a hand - typically a big hand, like pocket aces.

It usually happens when a player has AA in the hole... and decides to slow play them, or doesnt bet enough to push out the other players and gets beat.  Sometimes it is another decent hand that stayed after a raise, or a crap hand in the blind that hits on the flop because they werent raised out of the pot.

It can apply to any hand (usually pocket pairs) in the hole though....
