just painful
« on: June 24, 2009, 02:59:07 PM »
I recently added Pokerworld and started off strong.  A few nights ago however i literally lost 4 big tourneys in a row with pocket A's.  How painful it was and even more painful is the sight of my bankroll!!  The buy-ins were all $20 and above so i was hoping for the donkeys to stay away from the suckout hands but there they were catching trips and straights with hands like A 10 and K Q

Hey 'whale'.  That's really bad luck, four tourneys in a row lost because of pocket Aces, wow.  I'm curious to find out how you played each pair.  If you don't mind, let us know.  It would make, for us, a good learning tool to discuss.  Never know, we may all learn something from this.   Hoping to hear from you, thanks.

i'm cheap so i woulda played smaller tournys.  isn't it advisable to only spend a certain percentage of your bankroll on a buyin?  i also woulda ceased after the 2-3rd loss and chalked it up to "not my day"  and waited until tomorrow or next week.

That is very bad luck indeed. It would be interesting to know how you played the hands.

LIVE GAME CASINO STAKE 1/3 NL HOLDEM

my chip about $350

other player chips around $400

my hand was pocket QQ

his hand pocket AA

so i raise it 20, the other player re-raise to 60, so i called

the flop come 3-Q-3

i bet $100, the other player raise all in, so i call i have a full house Queens up so

the turn comes 3 so im still i ahead

so out comes the river 3 also

so he took down the damn pot
so the board was 3-Q-3-3-3

he caught 3-3-3-3-A
and me 3-3-3-3-Q

and plus it suck because it was not a Jackpot hand either both hold cards have to play what a river rat man
