I have no idea, but am curious too.  It would give more of us a crack at it if able to play online.

I could see an event or to online but the casino's I don't think would ever let them all go.  There is to much publicity and money involved there. Personally I Like live cards better.

I too like playing live poker better, which I do infrequently because of the hassles of getting around from home to wherever.  Much easier online in the comfortable confines of my den, with a cold beer or drink in my hand.

The WSOP is carried by a couple of the Poker Sites and I watch recaps every day at other poker Forums.

PokerStars has a series in October which they call the World Series of Online Poker but I don't think it is any way connected to the WSOP.  I would doubt that the sponsors of WSOP would give up all the tourism revenue that the WSOP generates, so that any part of it could go online with $0.00 ancillary revenue created, except for the poker sites.  Now, if the WSOP wanted to set up a poker site, that would be quite different

That's what I was thinking. The revenue the Casino's would lose there is no way they would let it go.
