No bad beat just a run of bad cards!!!
« on: January 27, 2008, 04:54:34 PM »
I used to win pretty regularly on my site and in the various homegames i play in, but lately ive hit a run of bad cards. This is no ordinary run of bad cards, Im talkin like a years worth of bad cards. Im sure it happens to everyone from time to time, but this one is unusually bad. If ive got trip kings I get beat with Trip Aces, I got King high flush my opponent is assuredly got the ace high flush and so on. Anyone have any small tips on how to change my luck around, or should i just take a break from playing. I consider myself a solid player i understand the math and the odds. This is making me furious any tips would be greatly appreciated. :x Looks like the luck is just going to continue. Two separate tourneys but the same outcome. About 1 1/2 hours into the first i hit pocket aces and raise 4 1/2 times the big blind with one caller the flop comes Ks 7c 8C, Im thinkin no harm done so i bet about 2/3 the size of the pot and without hesitation my opponent goes all in. Im thinkin he hit the king or has the club flush draw so i call and to my delight i was right, he had K 10 of hearts. But just as my luck would have it a ten hits not only on the turn but the river as well giving him 10s full of kings. I just sigh and go on about my way like im used to it. Did i make a bad play or is it just bad luck?
