First Live Tourney
« on: June 12, 2006, 05:32:50 PM »
Yesterday, I played my very first live tourney in my hometown.  There were 77 entrants and only about 8 of us were women.  I was one of those women. We all started with 5000 chips.  After a few hands I found myself betting on 2 pairs only to lose to the other player, he had 2 pairs also.  I lost half my stack.  It took me all afternoon to double up and get back to 5000 chips.  I finally got some action around 4 pm with pocket Q's and doubled up again.  I played very rocky and after the 4th break,  I had 28K chips and only 16 players were remaining.  I tried very hard not to play any hands till all 6 players were eliminated, which didnt take too long.  I finally saw my first final table.  I went all in twice with first, 88 then with 10 10, everyone folded and I collected the blinds that were very high at that time.  By the time I got blinded off, I had made it to 5th position.  I would say that is a great first live tourney...wouldnt you?

I enjoyed my tourney very much and now I cant wait for the next one.

Jackie
