Hello,
Just wanted to get people on this forums thoughts on something bothering me and its how some poker sites allow USA players and some do not that really bothers me some of the really cool sites that offer some nice new player bonuses and such just wont allow USA players my question is WHY? they point to these stipid laws and such but my counterpoint is wouldnt those same LAWS affect FullTilt,Pstars,Bodog (http://www.bodog.com/welcome/1169938/betting-offers/wsop-main-event-satellite.html),DoylesRoom (http://www.doylesroom.com?refid=bucnright), Ect. Ect. Ect. why do half the sites have Balls and half the sites seem to have NONE?? Just curious to hear some other peoples thoughts on this thanks and Take Care...

This is what I know, however, there may be other factors that enable or disable a poker site to accept or not US players. Sites that are registered outside the United States WILL allow US players, as they are not then bound by US gambling laws. The reverse is true for those sites that are, unfortunately, registered in the US. No play for you. If anyone else here knows more, I would appreciate your comments.

That is the same info I have.
If the company is registered in USA the USA laws apply to them and no gambling by USA people is allowed, but if the casino/company is located and registered in another country the laws that rule their development arent the USA laws... so they can allow players from any country.

yeah coz i remember hearing how one of the earliest poker site, dunno the name, used to be registered in the us, then new laws kicked in for online gambling and they had to reregister with some island nation to retain its customers
also a lot of sites not having mac compatibility is a bit annoying

Also I think because is legal or not is the question in the US . So states it is and others it is not. I think some sites just don't want the hassle that comes with the US players.

Hey 'tea'. Am not sure if I'm clear on your last comment. I don't think poker sites have a problem with USA players. Their problem is with each individual state that prohibits online poker play.

it would be nice to be welcomed everywhere and to have the freedom to play where i want to. i know there are people lobbying/petitioning for this but good grief, are they ever going to get anywhere?

YEAH I TOO THINK THAT THE POKER SITES HAVE PROBLEM WITH SOME INDIVIDUAL STATES...
ANYWAYS A ACTION IS BEING TAKEN AGAINST THE POKER BILL BY VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS....
WAT I THINK AND HOPE IS POKER SHOULD WIN....
